In this portrait series I revisited an earlier work (Paradise, a little bit further) in the streets of Antwerp for a period of six months.
Under the circumstance of the Master of Visual Arts I was attending at Sint Lucas School of Art in Antwerp, I approached strangers on the path between Antwerp Central Station and Sint Lucas, and asked them for one portrait with the same camera as used before. The rule of framing was lifted this time and the strangers were asked to photograph me as they thought was most appropriate. Each stranger became co-author of this new series of portraits in which social relation and its variables were the medium. |
